We are Heart and Sole - Meet Dr. Robyn Hatley

A Surgeon at GHS Children's Medical Center, a runner and a part of the Heart and Sole Family.

I am Robyn M. Hatley and this is what Heart and Sole means to me.

When I was asked to write what Heart and Sole meant to me, I immediately thought about Stacey Haskins.  She embodies every aspect of caring for children that should be fostered in people with the privilege to take care of these precious souls; Love, compassion, team work, and selflessness.

Bowen’s birth and 13 days on this Earth brought more love, compassion, and caring people together in her limited time than we can see in a lifetime.  I ask myself at times:  was this a tragedy?  After years, I still do not have an answer.  Career choices in this day and time are usually a reflection of lifestyle issues.  Stacey and the Heart and Sole Family make us realize that we are not here merely to make a living.  We are here to make the World a better place with greater vision, spirit, hope and achievement.  In essence, we are here to enrich the World.

Stacey has enriched so many lives with her tireless work with Heart and Sole.  I am blessed to be one of her vessels to help Heart and Sole fulfill this vision.

I am humbled each year that I am given the ultimate privilege to be the honorary starter for the run/walk.

A hundred years from now, it will not matter what our bank account balance was, the sort of house we lived in, or the kind of car we drove; but the World may be different because the Heart and Sole Family was important in the life of a child.
